Origami Gift Wrap: 25 Beautiful, Tape-Free Techniques for Mindful Gift-Giving

Origami Gift Wrap is a well illustrated tutorial guide to Japanese gift wrapping and presentation techniques with tutorials by Megumi Lorna Inouye. Due out 8th Sept 2026 from Hachette on their Storey imprint, it's 208 pages and will be available in paperback format.

These are mindful designs, which are made to showcase a presentation or gift thoughtfully. The author shows ways to wrap different shapes, how much material is needed, and how to go about folding the designs. Each of the folds are appealing, but even more valuable is the calm and deliberate (mindful) writing. Ms. Inouye has such a restful, kind, and welcoming style of writing.

Five stars. The folds/wraps themselves are original, very pretty, and timeless, and the slow and methodical process is lovely as well. It would be an excellent choice for public, school, or home library acquisition.

Disclosure: I received an ARC at no cost from the author/publisher for review purposes.
