Cookies The Classics is a nice collection curated and collected by the Coastal Kitchen. Released 4th Nov 2025 by Cider Mill Press, it's 368 pages and is available in hardcover and ebook formats.
The collection runs the gamut from comfort quick-bake classics like shortbread, chocolate chip (and variations), peanut butter, and thumbprint cookies to really involved, fancy, polished haute cuisine with a wide variety of finishes and glazes. Recipes are arranged thematically: dropped cookies, cookie-cutter, balled dough, cookie-press, and bar/sheet cookies.
Recipes are written with yields and background/intro followed by ingredients in a bullet list along with step-by-step instructions. Ingredient measures are provided in imperial (American) units, with metric units in parentheses (yay!). Most ingredients will be readily accessible at any well-stocked grocery store in North America.
The photos are standout and appealing (and in color) throughout. It's an encyclopedic cookie book with 160 recipes (and many many variations on finishes and glazes).
Five stars. It would be an excellent choice for public or school library acquisition, as well as the home kitchen collection.
Disclosure: I received an ARC at no cost from the author/publisher for review purposes.
