Black Rhino - Endangered Life Cycle series

book cover for Black Rhino

Black Rhino is a well written natural sciences selection for grade school readers, and part of a series on endangered animals by E.C. Andrews. Due out 1st Aug 2025 from North Star Editions, it's 24 pages and will be available in paperback and hardcover library binding.

The book covers the basics and defines all the terms and concepts in age-appropriate, clear, and accessible language. The author does a good job of explaining what a life cycle is, how endangered animals are very much at risk of dying out, and a little about what differences we can potentially make to better the chances for a positive outcome.

The book is very colorful, with clear color photos and punchy graphics throughout. The author/publisher have included some resources at the back of the book including a short glossary section, helpful hints for readers, and a cross-referenced index.

Five stars. For the suggested audience (~7-9 years) it's an interesting, factual, and well presented book. It would be an excellent choice for public or school library acquisition, for home use, or for gift giving purposes.

Disclosure: I received an ARC at no cost from the author/publisher for review purposes.
