Author Mari Bolte has written a fun series of activity books slanted toward young readers with food related DIY activities. This particular volume includes step by step illustrated instructions start to finish, for producing tasty Nice Cream along with a variety of toppings and serving suggestions. All steps are clearly photographed with specific and complete tools and ingredients lists. The writing is simple and understandable with specific steps to follow for a successful outcome. She squeezes in an impressive amount of chemistry and background info without being condescending at all. The vibe of the entire series is upbeat, excited, and cool.
Five stars. This would be a superlative choice for public or school library acquisition, home use, activity/makers' groups, or gift giving.
