Food Faces is an adorable board book for the very youngest and their caretakers with edible sculptures in appealing shapes. Due out 15th Sept 2020 from Storey Publishing, it's 22 pages and will be available in board book and ebook formats.
This is such a simple and appealing little book with a myriad of uses. I would venture that the vast majority of babies and young children love the 'animal noises' game. This one provides ample opportunity for onomatopoeic play with pictures of pigs, monkeys, dogs, bugs, cats, owls, foxes and more, as well as a cute "identify the foods used" game with a picture gallery at the end, as well as a lovely opportunity to engage older toddlers in re-creating the pictured snacks in the kitchen with grownup supervision of course. What a lovely fun little book full of healthy snacks. The photography is very clear and easy to understand. There are no construction notes included in the book, but they're not necessary.
This would be a superlative gift, excellent classroom or library group selection for activity groups, a wonderful parent/caregiver activity, or even for babysitters and child-minders looking to up their playfood activity time game with their small charges.
I loved this one. It's simple but so well done.
Five stars.
