Sit Write Here is an interesting and well written guide to creativity, mindfulness, and writing by April Davila. Released 7th July 2026 by Macmillan on their St. Martin's imprint, it's 224 pages and is available in paperback, audio, and ebook formats. It's worth noting that the ebook format has a handy interactive table of contents as well as interactive links and references throughout.
Distractions, obligations, and just the unrelenting speed of daily life get in the way of creative pursuits. This book is a capsule course on how to use mindfulness and intention to carve out time for writing, for moving beyond creative blockages, and succeeding. (Write *more* and suffer *less*).
It's practical and usable and she offers concrete tips and exercises to build up good practices.
Four and a half stars. It would be a good choice for public or home reference library, and for writing group study.
Disclosure: I received an ARC at no cost from the author/publisher for review purposes.
