The Two-Week Wait is a compassionately written and well drawn graphic story about one couple's experiences with IVF. Due out 4th May 2021 from Scribe Publications, it's 160 pages and will be available in paperback and ebook formats.
This is a touching story written honestly and simply. The emotional toll, stress, expense, and roller-coaster of assisted reproduction (IVF in this case) are represented concisely and with empathy. I can't imagine how difficult it must've been to write this book and collaborate with the artist through the publication process.
The art itself is simple and expressive and supports the story well. The coloring is quite subtle (see cover)e and the text is unobtrusive with good contrast and easy to follow layout.
Four stars. The subject matter might potentially be difficult for readers who are experiencing infertility or pregnancy loss.
Disclosure: I received an ARC at no cost from the author/publisher for review purposes.
